The word ‘Nectarines’ means sweet as nectar. Also called 'donut nectarines' or ' Saturn nectarines'. Nectarines are a type of peach without the fuzzy skin: both are stone fruits but nectarines are usually smaller in size with stronger aromas than peaches. What is the difference between peach and nectarine?

They're nutritionally similar, boasting comparable amounts of natural sugars, fibre and micronutrients. Yet peaches skin is rather velvety and more appropriate for baking or softer-textured recipes, while nectarines skin is smooth and they stay firm while cooking.
