Nadorcott (Afourer)
Nadorcott is a high quality type of mandarin thought to be the result of a Clementine – Murcott hybrid. Discovered in Morocco, the fruit is easy to peel with excellent sweetness/acidity balance. Early season Nadorcott can be quite tangy. Nadorcott sold in UK is practically seedless but seeds can occasionally be found.
Mandarin oranges have even more beta-carotene and beta-cryptoxanthin than common oranges, making them excellent additions to your diet. The body turns beta-carotene and beta-cryptoxanthin into vitamin A, which is essential for a healthy immune system, good vision, normal growth and development.
Available from January to March.
